Western Light Rail Agreement Reached

10 03 2015

As widely reported in the media, on Friday, 6 March, the city of Ottawa and the National Capital Commission reached an agreement in principal for that portion of the western LRT “Stage 2” route extension which crosses McKellar Park between the planned Dominion and Cleary stations. Councillor Leiper called the agreement “a promising compromise.”

Terms of the agreement, including the memorandum of understanding and detailed maps, can be found on the city’s Stage 2 / 100 Day Working Group page and on the NCC’s Transportation Strategies site.

The city has slated public consultations for Monday, 30 March at City Hall, specifically reviewing this 100-day working group agreement, and on Wednesday, 29 April at Foster Farm Community Center to review the entire plan for Stage 2 western extension of the Confederation Line LRT from Tunney’s Pasture to Baseline and Bayshore.

The NCC is also planning a 5 May workshop on the waterfront linear park.

This post and the community’s Google calendar will be updated when specific times are known for these meetings.
