On Wednesday March 22 my office hosted a community meeting in conjuction with the City’s Stage 2 LRT team and KEV representatives. Staff provided a full construction update on the project that was followed by a question-and-answer period.

Please note: This Wednesday meeting updates LRT construction across Bay Ward, in contrast to the previously announced Monday meeting that specifically addresses construction at the Cleary Avenue / Richmond Road / Byron Avenue site in McKellar Park.
On Wednesday, March 22my office in conjunction with Stage 2 LRT staff will be holding a community update meeting from 6:pm to 8:30pm. Staff will provide a presentation to residents that includes a summary of the work that has been conducted to date and what future construction lies ahead. This will be followed by a question-and-answer session where attendees have the opportunity to ask questions.

Councillor Kavanagh is holding a meeting on Monday, March 20 to make sure everyone affected knows about the work about to happen in the area as Richmond at Cleary is closed to allow the connection of the Parkway segment and the Byron segment of the LRT tunnel.

Notice of Cut and Cover Tunneling Activities and Night Work

What
Support of Excavation (SOE) and excavation activities, followed by tunnel construction.
Daytime: More impactful work will be scheduled, like the drilling of soldier piles (approximately 50 steel shafts), support of excavation (SOE), excavation and backfill with excavators, dump trucks, hydrovac operations, hauling and concrete pouring.
Nighttime: Less impactful activities, including servicing heaters and generators, and excavation, will be scheduled.
Activity during the day and night will include hoisting work using cranes, welding operations, and excavation. As well, generators, pumps and heaters will be operating, to support construction.
When
Equipment is expected to mobilize the week of March 20th with pile drilling anticipated to being week of April 3rd and will continue through 2023, subject to a valid Noise By-Law Exemption Permit. 24-hours a day, Monday to Friday. Daytime and nighttime work on weekends may also be required.
